Natural Mindfulness and Forest Bathing
Touch
Closely studying an aspect of nature through the sense of touch can be deeply relaxing. Try these exercises to nurture your nature connection.
Feel. Identify an aspect of nature such as a fallen pine cone, leaf, feather, twig, rock or pine needles from the forest floor. Look closely at your item. What does it feel like gently sitting in your hand? Feel the textures - rough, smooth, prickly? Run the item up your arm or down your leg - tune in to the feeling in your body - what emotion does this contact with nature evoke?
Eyes closed - repeat the above exercise with your eyes closed. Is the sensation on your body heightened? Do you feel any different with your eyes closed?
